Poka-yoke (ポカヨケ, Poka-yoke?) — pronounced “POH-kah YOH-keh” — is a Japanese term that means “fail-safing” or “mistake-proofing” — avoiding (yokeru) inadvertent errors (poka)) is a behavior-shaping constraint, or a method of preventing errors by putting limits on how an operation can be performed in order to force the correct completion of the operation. Three types of Poka-Yoke:
1. The contact method identifies defects by whether or not contact is established between the device and the product. Color detection and other product property techniques are considered extensions of this.
2. The fixed-value method determines whether a given number of movements have been made.
3. The motion-step method determines whether the prescribed steps or motions of the process have been followed.

Poka Yoke – Mistake Proofing

Mục đích của PokaYoke hay Mistake-proofing (ngăn ngừa lỗi) là loại trừ lỗi. Để loại trừ lỗi, chúng ta cần sửa đổi quá trình nên không thể thực hiện từ ban đầu. Với những giải pháp ngăn ngừa lỗi, nhiều tác vụ lặp lại phụ thuộc vào trí nhớ của công nhân được đưa vào xây dựng bản thân quá trình. Ngăn ngừa lỗi giải phóng thời gian và tâm trí của lực lượng lao động để theo đuổi nhiều hoạt động sáng tạo và giá trị hơn. Ngăn ngừa lỗi cũng kéo một sự thay đổi trong suy nghĩ của tổ chức. Các tổ chức phải thiết lập một suy nghĩ ngăn ngừa lỗi nhằm đẩy mạnh niềm tin rằng mà không thể chấp nhận thậm chí kể cả một số lượng sản phẩm hay dịch vụ bị lỗi nhỏ.
